Opa’s Beer Brats
Opa's Beer Brats
The tailgate classic, done the Opa's way. Opa's Premium Bratwursts simmer in a bath of beer, onions, and a little heat, then finish over the grill for color and char. The beer-and-onion mixture cooks down into a topping you'll want piled right back on top. It's a backyard crowd-pleaser any time the grill's lit.

Ingredients
- 8 Opa's Premium Cooked Bratwursts
- 4 cans (12 ounce each) beer
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
- Heat the grill. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Simmer in beer. Combine the beer and onions in a large pot and bring to a boil. Submerge the bratwurst, add the red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, reduce the heat to medium, and cook 10-12 minutes. Remove the bratwurst, reduce the heat to low, and keep the onions cooking.
- Grill and serve. Cook the bratwurst on the grill, turning once, 5-10 minutes. Serve with the beer-and-onion mixture as a topping or side.
