Cheesy ham roll-ups with Opa's Boneless Peppered Ham and melted mozzarella, served with marinara for dipping

Cheesy Ham Roll-Ups with Opa's Boneless Peppered Ham

This is the appetizer that disappears first. Strips of pizza dough wrapped around Opa's Boneless Peppered Ham and a whole mozzarella stick, brushed with butter, dusted with a Parmesan-garlic crust, and baked until golden and blistered. The mozzarella melts into a pull-apart center, and the peppered ham gives every bite a savory, black-pepper backbone that plain deli ham can't. Fifteen minutes of assembly, about twenty in the oven, and a warm bowl of marinara for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 16 slices Opa's Boneless Peppered Ham, thinly sliced
  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven. Set it to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cut the dough. Roll out the pizza or crescent dough on a flat surface and cut it into 8 strips, each wide enough to wrap around a cheese stick.
  3. Fill and roll. Lay two slices of Opa's Boneless Peppered Ham on each strip, set a mozzarella stick in the center, and roll tightly into a log. Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  4. Butter and top. Brush each roll generously with the melted butter. Scatter the shredded mozzarella over the rolls, then stir the Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt together and sprinkle the mixture over the top.
  5. Bake. 18-22 minutes, until the dough is deep golden brown and the cheese is bubbling at the ends.
  6. Rest and serve. Let the rolls cool a couple of minutes so the cheese settles, then serve warm with a bowl of marinara for dipping.
