Storing Opa’s Smoked Meats:
All Opa’s smoked meats require refrigeration, without exception. Generally, smoked sausage has a ninety-day refrigerated shelf life and can be frozen for up to one year. Keep tenderloins and jerky in a well-ventilated, dry area of the refrigerator. Do not store tenderloins or jerky in plastic wrap, plastic bags or any sealed container — these items keep best loosely wrapped in a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.

Preparing Opa’s Smoked Meats:
Our smoked meats are fully cooked and ready to serve. Hams, turkeys and tenderloins are great cold or gently heated in the oven… don’t overheat or these delicious, juicy meats may dry out. Grill our sausage, heat in the oven or on the stovetop in a skillet. It’s especially good simmered in beer. We do not recommend heating sausage in a microwave — it toughens the sausage casing.

All products are shipped frozen to ensure the quality of your order. All packages are shipped in a sealed styro-foam container packed with frozen gel packs.

While we make every effort to minimize shipping charges for our customers, any order shipped to an address not in Texas will require expedited shipping and handling rates to accommodate shipping requirements for perishable items. These rates are already reflected in the out of state rate chart.

All SHIPMENTS TO ALASKA AND HAWAII MUST BE SHIPPED USING EXPEDITED SHIPPING.

I never received my order!

Yesterday I jotted a note to myself reminding me to check with you about my order. And it was delivered two weeks ago? I am heartbroken that someone else enjoyed my wonderful sausage!!! I will have to save my money to try again!

It’s the best for us.

We discovered Opa’s while on vacation some years ago. We place a few orders each year because it’s our favorite.

Jalapeno Sausage

This is the sausage we like the best and have to order online as it is NOT available in any Dallas area stores. You can get beef, jalapeno cheese but NOT regular jalapeno. We do occasionally get beef at Walmart or other stores. At one time (maybe two years ago), we could get jalapeno at Central Market. Expensive to ship but still cheaper than 5 hr drive each way to Fredicksburg JALAPENO IS THE BEST!!!!! And Beef is right behind that

I have long missed opal’s sausage since I moved to Kentucky but glad that I found I can order it online more expensive than buying in store in Texas but worth it
